I’m reviewing MapPress Easy Google Maps

What is it?

MapPress adds an interactive map to the wordpress editing screens. When editing a post or page just enter any addresses you’d like to map.

The plugin will automatically insert a great-looking interactive map into your blog. Your readers can get directions right in your blog and you can even create custom HTML for the map markers (including pictures, links, etc.)!

Plugin Review: Google Analytics for WordPress by Yoast

Another request is in! Today it’s for Google Analytics for WordPress by Yoast.

So what’s the pitch?

Google Analytics for WordPress is the most complete Google Analytics plugin for WordPress. Of course, you could just copy the tracking code into your theme and be done with it, but then you’d miss a whole lot of features that this plugin has to offer you. All the extra data this plugin can add to your tracking is what makes Google Analytics for WordPress into the most powerful tracking tool you’ve ever seen.

Joke Explanation: I’m So Meta, Even This Acronym (ISMETA)

The joke is that Douglas Hofstadter…you can look him up on Wikipedia. Anyway, he wrote several 700-page books spanning a range of genres. The autobiagraphy* consists of six words, which, when added to their initialismization, form a complete sentence: “I’m So Meta, Even This Acronym” + ISMETA = “I’m so meta, even this acronym is meta.”

I’m So Meta, Even This Acronym (ISMETA).

The prefix meta is used to mean about (its own category). For example, metadata are data about data (who has produced them, when, what format the data are in and so on). Also, metamemory in psychology means an individual’s knowledge about whether or not they would remember something if they concentrated on recalling it.

This acronym is about itself. Hofstadter wrote a book about himself.
